LMS Overview

Learning Management System (LMS) is mostly used by many organizations in today world to survive in this cut-throat competitive arena. LMS is a collection of various learning courses that helps the employees of an organization to gain knowledge on the technical and managerial aspects in their career. LMS provides flexibility to its users by offering the learning items in various types - eLearning, Scheduled Offerings, Document-based, Exam Modules. Employees spread around various parts of globe at any point-of time by connecting to their organization network. Manual monitoring of their progress is reduced by LMS workflow design. 

PLATEAU LMS has been designed by leading Talent Management MNC - SuccessFactors. PLATEAU LMS  of v5.8 SP5 P24 comes with two different interfaces - admin interface (AI) and User Interface (UI).

Users logged in to LMS UI, users can perform various activities. They are:
  • View their Learning Plan to check their pending/assigned items.
  • Check their Learning History to check the completion status.
  • Generate either legacy, or non-legacy or custom reports in various formats - HTML/CSV/PDF.
  • Change their locale preferences according to their comfort.
  •  Search for the learning profiles through various search methods - Browse Catalogue, Simple Search, Advanced Search.
  • Register for the ILT sessions by searching the learning profiles and add it to their learning plan.
  • Check the status of the assigned curricula in their Learning Plans.
  • Check their Learning Calendar to find the details about the registered sessions and expiry dates of the Learning profiles assigned to their Learning Plans.
  • Complete the surveys of the completed courses.
Managers are the users having elevated access to the LMS UI. They can do additional activities along with normal user role. They can:
  • View the Organization chart. Organization chart display list of direct employees reporting to Manager(s).
  • View the learning plan and learning history of the reporting employees.
  • Assign items, register ILT sessions to his/her reporting employes.
  • Generate reports for his/her reporting employes.
  • Can perform Record Learning for his/her reporting employes.
Note
  1. Managers will be having additional tab 'My Employee' in LMS UI. Normal Users will not have this additional tab.
  2. Managers can also be LMS Admins, but all admins may not be managers.
  3. LMS admins are having more access privileges than Managers.
Admins are having "a kind" of full access to LMS application. For a validated systems, admins are not allowed to delete the data from the systems. Admins are allowed to delete the data from DB through Change Management process only after receiving approval from the Business team. Admins can do various tasks. They can:
  • View/Edit the user profiles.
  • Assign the learning profiles to users, based on request.
  • Send Notification emails based on criteria.
  • Merge user details from old profile to new profile through 'Merge User Record' tool.
  • Edit Learning History details.
  • Propagate Assignment profiles.
  • Create content profiles, Item profiles, exam profiles.
  • Make item profiles 'production-ready'.
  • Modify the system configuration.
  • Upload the online content to LMS system.
  • Creating direct link for the tools.
  • Delete background jobs.
  • Generate reports based on criteria.
  • Create background jobs, recurring report jobs.
  • Adding catalogues to item profiles.
